Child Care Subsidy
Affordability looks different for every family, but cost shouldn’t be a barrier to your child from calling Oak Tree Academy home. Our high-quality, holistic early learning environment is worth finding a way. Through our designated Child Care Subsidy (CCS) status, we welcome every child.
Fee Support
The CCS is financial assistance provided by the Commonwealth Government to approved early learning centres. This subsidy is ‘means tested’ and managed by the Family Assistance Office (FAO).
If you’re approved for CCS, you should pay much less out-of-pocket ‘gap’ fees.
CCS Eligibility
We know red tape can become an obstacle between you and financial assistance. To make it easy, here are the basic eligibility requirements for the CCS:
Your child must:
be a ‘Family Tax Benefit’ child or ‘regular child care,’[1]
be 13 years or under,
not attending secondary school, and
meet immunisation requirements.
The CCS claimant (you or your partner) must:
meet the residency requirements,
meet the CCS activity test (or be eligible for an exemption), and
be liable to pay for the care provided under a Complying Written Arrangement (their written agreement) with their child care provider.
Remember, there are exemptions for individuals who genuinely can’t meet some of the eligibility requirements.
Application Process
Do you qualify for fee assistance? To find out – apply through your local Family Assistance Office (FAO). Call the FAO on 13 61 50 or contact Centrelink if you have any questions.
